ABOUT RAE'S OF ART

What started as an accountability Instagram page for my New Year's resolution to 'do more art' became this blog, fueled by my passion for art.
Ever since I launched this project in December 2017, my page has gained a small but loyal following. To see what I’ve been up to, browse my site, learn about my passions, and explore what excites and interests you.
This site is to serve as a way for me to expand on topics addressed in my captions, and be my personal home base. I want to create a space that welcomes all people and their stories, melding my creativity with my curiosity.

I love working with acrylic paints and just letting my emotions work with them to create one of a kind abstract works.
I pick landscape images or descriptions that speak to me and work up a sketch before translating that onto canvas with paints. I make sure that the images are either open source, my own photography, or I've received permission.
I make my digital artworks in a similar manner, where I find a subject matter that speaks to me and that I can't find a version online. I look at similar design concepts after I've done the image to ensure mine is unique before I begin marketing it for sale. I live on a farm and grew up in nature which inspires all of my work. I am always looking for ways to make my work better, unique, and ecologically conscious. I have been painting off and on since I was seven years old and am mostly self-taught, though others have helped me along the way.
